Navigating Regulations in the Brazilian University System
Market Assessment Research
Our client, a global consultancy, was conducting a study on the regulatory environment for private universities in Brazil. Their client was contemplating Brazil as the target for their first campus in Latin America and wanted to understand the steps they would need to take to open a campus, gain accreditation and enroll students in the country.
Americas Market Intelligence (AMI) consultants in São Paulo first obtained and then scrutinized Brazilian educational legislation to understand the official requirements for a university to operate in Brazil. The team then met with experts on the Brazilian university system to understand how these requirements play out in practice and best practices for foreign universities coming in to Brazil for the first time.
AMI produced a report that outlined the detailed steps required to register as a legal entity, obtain and maintain accreditation, information on the performance exam required by the Brazilian government, requirements to offer online courses, as well as a suggestions and best practices for recruiting students and operating in Brazil. With this information, the client was able to advise their client on how to develop their market entry strategy.
AMI delivered a step by step account of how to establish a university in Brazil and maintain official accreditation.
