Recently, Remi Piet—Director of the Resources/Infrastructure practice at Americas Market Intelligence—was interviewed by the Inter-American Dialogue’s weekly Energy Advisor newsletter. The focus of the story was the impact on LatAm's energy sector from the upcoming renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Piet highlighted some of the opportunities and a number of challenges, including President Trump’s statements about Mexico, the developing LNG supply glut and the current position of the Trump administration on climate change mitigation.
